AWB
editI see that you've granted AWB requests in the past. I'd like to ask you to begin watching this page, which is where new AWB requests should go. Thanks! Thunderhead ► 20:13, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
heads up
editYou have messages on commons. Bawolff ☺☻ 19:41, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, i saw that now. I just wanted to make sure you got the message, because I've seen as a general trend the average wikinewsie on commons who gets a deletion notice, doesn't ever see the notice, so I just wanted to make sure that you got it. Happy editing. Bawolff ☺☻ 22:58, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
FireWiki site
editThanks Steve... I am still new to this and learning... thank you for your help.

Airline checks Dell and Apple computers for hazard
editWhen you archived Airline checks Dell and Apple computers for hazard, did you review the listed source? It seems Candlelight vigil for victims of Virginia Tech shootings was by the same editor. Cheers, --SVTCobra 22:31, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
Iran and extremism
editI believe that by virtue of what it is the death penalty is an extreme punishment for any crime. For being involved in a sexual relationship it is definitely extreme. --Brian McNeil / talk 12:20, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
Thanks
editThanks for the kind compliment. --Wpktsfs 23:22, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
Putin speech
editAre you still working on this story? You haven't made an edit in over 45 minutes. It is an important story and needs to be published. --SVTCobra 15:48, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, I see you are still working on it. I started a dupe story Putin delivers annual address to Russia which has some more sources and an image you can incorporate. Also, your story title says "eight" I think that should be "eighth" --SVTCobra 15:54, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

Should this page not be titled Australia defeats Sri Lanka in 2007 Cricket World Cup Final? It seems a bit odd without that last word - as if only one match was played. Maybe it's just me. Cheers. :) AllynJ 23:43, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
- Hehe. No problem. Thank you! Spent a lot of time on these things and I feel it's paid off. :] And yeah, I know what you mean, time for me to get a rest now I've finished doing some stuff over on WP too, been up for far too long meself. :p AllynJ 00:26, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
This is just a suggestion that you can chose to follow or not:
editdo not attempt to make wikinews into some spin off of Wikipedia. I say in consideration of your lame questions to Jcart1534 during the RfA here. Those unfocused questions muddle the process. -Edbrown05 08:22, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
- re: Thanks for your explanation. I was under the impression that you might be some Wikipedia brat. I am aware of the excellent original reporting you have done with stories here.
- I thought maybe you could let my trangression pass, because, after all, that is what builds toward acceptance.
- There is a mutual interest we share in understanding screen shots and how they can be employed. From my perspective, you cannot present yourself on the WWW, and expect that you can wear a copyright face.
- There is big "L" in that, it stands for Loser. -Edbrown05 07:52, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
- My first blush reation to that statement: "everything on the internet is copyrighted unless clearly stated" is exactly the opposite. An individual, a group, a business might have something to say... so what. -Edbrown05 08:41, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
- I do belive I am missing your point to some extent. I'll consider it, from the ground up as you seem to suggest, from their pont of view, which is a point I do think is kind of ancient. -Edbrown05 08:50, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

Article
editI have updated as requested, please leave it published this is an important book. thanks 67.71.155.212 19:05, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, would u mind putting the book cover into the article, I am not sure of the script at wikinews for that. It is located at the wikipedia article. 67.71.155.212 19:33, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
- Hi again, I was referring to the Book Cover image from the Wikipedia article: Book Cover 67.71.155.212 23:51, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

President-elect Sarkozy promises change for France
editHi, thanks for the compliment. I appreciate it, the article was a lot of work. I reverted your edit to the statement of Chuck Schumer. I agree he doesn't always make sense, but we shouldn't change his words. --SVTCobra 21:26, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
- I have seen the quote both ways.
- "It would be nice to have someone who’s head of France who doesn’t have a knee-jerk reaction against the United States." The way I have it now.
- "I mean, it would be nice to have someone who is head of France who doesn’t almost have a knee-jerk reaction against the United States." The way some sources have it.
- The only difference is the contraction of "who is" into "who's" and the word "almost". Really, I don't see how it makes any more or less sense either way. But since everyone is citing CNN and CNN itself uses the word "almost", I guess I can go your way. --SVTCobra 15:15, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
Re: Press Card
editHey, I don't want to jump the gun by providing you with a photo before my request closes, but thank you for letting me know! I'll endeavor to get a decent ID photo done ASAP! --Skenmy(t•c•w•i) 15:17, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
Well I am leaving.
editMy Sivaji: The Boss articles got criticized and it gets looked down upon, especially the last one I wrote with lots of information regarding the Cauvery river dispute and how it affects Sivaji: The Boss. It is quiet annoying. So I am leaving. ~~ Vagish [wp] [wn] 17:03, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
what do you think? –Doldrums(talk) 19:25, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry for that, Stevenfruitsmaak! I wasn't sure what to do with it, but Doldrums's solution looks great. I also linked back to Wikinews Shorts from the full article. Cheers, Jcart1534 19:44, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
Opinion?
editHi Steven. Would you mind having a look at this article, China warns US on trade, and offering your opinion on the neutrality? It is in dispute (see Talk page). However, I don't think it is too biased, and it would be a shame to let it die. The user is new and I would like to encourage them, if it could be worked out. Cheers, Jcart1534 17:48, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for your input yesterday! Jcart1534 13:02, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
RE: Great OR
editThankyou so much. Unfortunately of late I haven't had much time to spend on Wikinews but I will be trying to do OR on major events in my area. I have no problem with blogging about it, it would be interesting - Cartman02au (Talk)(AU Portal) 20:29, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
- I am glad you like my blog, I have never really blogged before but must admit it is interesting. I was surprised at flashing my press card given how unknown Wikinews is in Australia! - Cartman02au (Talk)(AU Portal) 20:28, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

Featured picture
editI think we should only have pictures that Wikinews contributors took during an event as "Featured picture". It is good to promote Wikinews' work as opposed to someone elses on the main page. I am going to change the image to a recent one by Cartman02au. Hope that's okay with you :-) —FellowWikiNewsie 20:30, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
- liking the template but not sure how the whole content argument is going to fan out. maybe if we change it to news pic of the day or something to loose the featured bit then maybe use any pics we can?--MarkTalk 14:57, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
- like how you put the pic on the main page - fills that gap nicely!!--MarkTalk 18:56, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
- yup will do - may get onto commons soon --MarkTalk 19:00, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I´ve asked you something on an Article Talk page
editAnd just wanted to direct you there
Re:Spelling and such
editOk, seems reasonable, I will try to look over my articles in future (and maybe tag them with {{ready}}, too). Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 23:05, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

editYup will try to help out here as i said before just have been very busy and will be for the next few days but i will try and do so stuff for this soon. Cheers for your great work!!! --MarkTalk 18:45, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
- No problem...I will vote on images and update them from time to time, but I will not be active on the project all the time. —FellowWikiNewsie 19:44, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Ploy photos
editIs this, Pen-Ek Ratanaruang's latest film makes Thailand premiere, what you had in mind? I wasn't sure it was up to snuff for original reporting, so I marked it with a development tag. Thanks! Wisekwai 04:18, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
- I am working press, so I was there anyway, to review the film. The publication I work for didn't need all the color commentary from the pre-screening hoopla, so that's why I put it here. Thanks for the encouragement. I probably wouldn't have written the story without it. Wisekwai 09:46, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
Balancing articles
editI preferred the Kyoto story with at least one picture on the left, to me it is unbalanced with them all on the right. OTOH, a QuoteLeft template might fix that. --Brian McNeil / talk 11:45, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
Wikinews Reports
editI just want to get wikinews in Google news. And I thought it wasa good Idea through Wikinews Reports. I read the blog and although there maybe just OR there, there is no where in which it says that is the only thing. But anyways, this is what Google News said:
Thank you for your note. We've reviewed your site and will be adding it to our index for Google News. You should be able to find your articles in Google News within a few weeks.
Sorry again. DragonFire1024 03:29, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
Post-Kyoto protocoll :D
editWow, nice that something was made of my crude notes, many thanks ! I´m sorry now that I didn´t transcript some more of Barrosos press statement :/ . But I´m very pleased what they worked out in the end (-50% till 2050) :D, I´d say thats some good news! Regards Sean Heron 17:11, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
Did I say thats a very nice article you did ? Really good effort :). All the best for your medical exams as well, hope writing an article around my notes didn´t take away too much time from learning. Sean Heron 18:06, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
Heya
editSteven, if you're around, I was wondering if you were able to jump onto IRC and into #wikinews for a second - there's something I'd like to discuss with you. Cheers, Daniel 09:15, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
- We seemed to miss each other when you came on. Anyways, what I was saying to you was that, after discussion with a couple of people in #wikinews, I created Wikinews:Wikinews Bulletin. Since then, I have found this blog, which serves a very similar purpose, yet is probably more designed for outside audiences (ie. a different target audience to the Bulletin, which is designed for Wikinews users). However, I really liked your entry about Sean at the G8, and was wondering if you'd be fine with me using it (accredited to you in the by-line, of course) in the first publication version (out tomorrow). Although the blog is licensed under the CC license like Wikinews, I thought that it'd be common courtesy to ask. Cheers, Daniel 09:35, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
