The graph is nice, but it seems to show temperatures didn't go above 38°C. Why the disconnect between the chart and the article? Cheers, --SVTCobra 13:42, 19 March 2018 (UTC)
- To further SVT's point, I would change the temperature scale. If you are talking about 38°C and at no point goes lower than 20ish, there is no reason why you should have a scale from 0 to 100. It looks like your using Excel for this, which means it maybe difficult to do that, WolframAlpha could probably do it better. AZOperator (talk) 17:01, 19 March 2018 (UTC)

- The BOM data indeed did not record the temperatures to go above 40C. This is something the news sources do not explain. At home I did measure 40.7C. Gryllida (talk) 23:02, 19 March 2018 (UTC)
- I presume this is because they update the weather station data every 10 minutes but only a 30 minutes interval report is available on the website of now. A weatherzone table confirms the maximum to be data from the Sydney Airport (AP) weather station so I am adding this as a source to the article and adding a line about that. I am not sure whether I will be able to get a complete dataset to plot from BOM, this may take a while. Sent them an email asking to provide the full data set if they do not mind. - Yes, it raises questions about what data Daily Mail was basing their article on. They clearly said at the airport, but the data we have doesn't support it. Also, Daily Mail is not local (nor very reliable in my personal experience). However, you mentioned a photo you took of a 'weather station' (I assume it is some type of thermometer). - The data is also supported by the weatherzone source I just added, it specifically says the maximum was recorded at sydney airport weather station run by BOM. Unfortunately I would be able to get the photo only in about 12 hours as it is on a camera at home, if I don't get data from BOM by then I could upload it to commons and add to the story (assumng the weatherzone source is not enough and BOM does not provide a complete data set with 10 minute update interval - I just sent them an email and gave them a call about this. I find it strange that they do not have it on their own website but I think the information is accurate.). Gryllida (talk) 23:44, 19 March 2018 (UTC)

- I have a problem with this statement: "As a result of the hot temperatures, an out-of-control bushfire appeared in Tarraganda and Tathra". Surely, temperatures were not so hot that things spontaneously combust into flames. Fires don't just 'appear' ... hot weather and low humidity contribute to the combustablity of the bush and grass, but this ought to be rephrased. --SVTCobra 21:16, 21 March 2018 (UTC)
