Possible correction? edit

{{flag}} Whilst looking through this article, I read some of the Wikipedia article on Rafsanjani. Apparently he was not an Ayatollah. He held the rank of a Hujjat al-Islam, which is one grade below an Ayatollah. Should we issue a {{correction}}? -Green Giant (talk) 23:43, 6 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Multiple times in the enwiki article, he is referred to as Ayatollah --DannyS712 (talk) 20:16, 16 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
I see no evidence of this. It seems to have been a misreading of the en.wp article, which says (and said at the time of the above) only that Ayatollah Khamenei dissed him with the lesser title. His obit in the NYT calls him an ayatollah in the title and flat out states he was an ayatollah in the body of the article. --Pi zero (talk) 21:33, 26 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I’m pretty much convinced I have misread it too. That’s why I delimited the flag template. Green Giant (talk) 21:50, 26 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

{{editprotected}} "...exchange view regarding this issue" should be "exchange views regarding this issue". Heavy Water (talk) 01:54, 30 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
