Help editing

How can I edit when all the pages are protected? Cowboysfan3214 (talk) 16:24, 7 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Cowboysfan3214. News articles are snapshots in time; they show what a story looked like when it had just happened. Notice that each article has a date at the top; that's not the date that the described event took place, it's the date of publication of the article, the date when the snapshot was taken, so to speak. Most of our efforts from day to day are on production of new articles. There is a compact overview of what we do here at Wikinews:Pillars of writing, and then I'd suggest Wikinews:Writing an article, which is a tutorial on writing a first article here.

We do make small, non-substantive edits to archived articles (fixing typos, mostly), and issue a {{correction}} to an archived article when necessary (which is very rare). For that sort of thing, put a note on the article's talk page requesting the change, with a call to template {{editprotected}}. --Pi zero (talk) 17:16, 7 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

1) Headline may need fixing?

2) More categories may need to be added but not sure which

3) Nearly stale, I attempted to remedy this by finding a fresh and beautiful photo (with milky way). Was hoping for astronaut news to help this but his photos at Flicks are not really 'fresher'. Hope the milky way photo helps.

This needs relatively urgent attention from any volunteers and authors, and review. Will be unable to assist next 12 hours, have the tasks called 'sleep' and 'study' for this period.

Thank you all in advance to anyone who may be able to assist.
