All material published on Wikinews after December 16, 2024 is licensed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 License. Material published prior December 16, 2024 but after September 25, 2005 is licensed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 License. This work may be attributed to "Wikinews". All material published prior to September 25, 2005, is in the public domain.

Do not submit copyrighted material to Wikinews, unless it is released under a license compatible with Wikinews'. Copyrighted material will be removed on sight.

Do not submit any text materials from other Wikimedia sites (such as Wikipedia) to Wikinews. The licenses used by these sites contain copyleft conditions which conflict with Wikinews' license. Due to these reasons, content from these sites may not be incorporated legally into Wikinews except as fair use content.
