Talk:Shimon Peres discusses the future of Israel

Is this triple repeat deliberate or a typo: "What are they killing killing killing over?" (I found it in the reply to the Darfur question.) --SVTCobra 14:08, 8 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yeah. He repeated for emphasis. --David Shankbone 14:43, 8 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Audio

Okay, I have a Windows Media format audio version of this interview I want to upload. I know somewhere there are instructions, but could somebody who knows tell me again how to upload audio in Windows format? --David Shankbone 01:35, 9 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

I think they want in ogg format. But Bawolff (talk · contribs) is probably a good person to ask about this. --SVTCobra 13:59, 9 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
You can only upload in ogg format but there are several Free (many Free as in GPL) programs which can convert from Windows Media to ogg. I think Audacity allows opening as Windows Media and saving as ogg (in effect converting to ogg) and it is free . I think VLC allows it but it seems to be more complicated for new users and it doesn't always seem to work of the program as VLC is designed as a media player. There are probably many more but I don't know them. Hope this is helpful. Both Audacity and VLC Media Player are licensed under the GNU GPL--User:Anonymous101 Talk 16:40, 9 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
After checking I have discovered that Audacity can probably not deal with Windows audio files but I have checked and I think VLC Media Player can. This is not definate as different websites say different thing but this is what I have gathered from looking at various web pages --User:Anonymous101 Talk 16:19, 10 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
I have used audio converter many times for converting files and it works perfectly. I recommend you use it to convert your file. Just a suggestion. FellowWiki Newsie 18:14, 10 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
I meant to attempt this last night but got caught up in other things. Will try tonight. --David Shankbone 18:04, 11 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Just a note, the transcoding stuff in vlc is rather complicated and hard to get working. I generally use ffmpeg (I believe it works with wma), however that is hard to find for windows (but if you are on some variant of unix, its probably already installed). Whatever happened to the promised audio? --SVTCobra 22:40, 29 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Headline

David Shankbone landed on SundayPerhaps instead of putting his actual name in the headline, just put Israeli PM instead? Shimon Peres isn't a household name as people like George W. Bush is. What do you think? --Nzgabriel | Talk 05:43, 9 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Well, I'm receptive to the idea--I won't war over it--but I think it's a mistake if we don't keep with what looks to be period pieces. That said, if the title is an issue then we should put "President Shimon Peres of Israel discusses the future of the country." —Preceding unsigned comment added by David Shankbone (talkcontribs) 10:48, 9 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Should this be moved to commons, theres a small possibility that it might be with in the scope of commons to create a gallery for that in main ns.(anyone here familiar with commons policy on something like that?). Bawolff 05:31, 13 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

I prefer the gallery to be on Wikipedia because I want to show where the photos are used on Wikipedia. --David Shankbone 15:56, 13 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please replace the accelerator image with its dupe: "Weizmann Institute particle accelerator.jpg". Thanks. Siebrand - (talk) 08:19, 29 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please specify the exact image name to be replaced. Cirt - (talk) 21:54, 29 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
