Can an admin perform the edit-protected requested changes to the MediaWiki:Sp-contributions-footer message? TeleComNasSprVen (talk) 01:00, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Did that. --Pi zero (talk) 01:56, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

{{Popular articles}} currently displays a number of trailing }}-brackets for me. I don't want to edit the page myself so as not to mess anything up. Is anyone else getting this? It Is Me Here t / c 15:46, 18 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

That often happens. The page is updated by a bot, I believe, once an hour, except when for some reason that doesn't happen. Occasionally it stops updating for an extended time, and we replace it on the main page with something else till it comes back. The person who set it up is User:Bawolff, who I seem to recall has said disparraging things about the implementing code.
Don't edit the template manually, please; that just confuses the flaggedrevs sighting on the page so that things don't get sited when it's updated on the hour until someone manually intervenes to sight it. --Pi zero (talk) 15:59, 18 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
If there are less than 15 articles with a single hit in an hour, bad things happen. Bawolff 17:57, 19 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
This should no longer be an issue. Bawolff 18:20, 19 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
When it produces no stats at all, could the bot be made to automatically substitute something (dunno what) onto the main page instead? BRS (Talk) (Contribs) 17:20, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

New abuse filter?

When Category:Published is removed on an article and replaced (as here), the DPLs get confused as to publish dates despite FlaggedRevs. The devs refuse to fix the flaw (I recall there being a very good reason why, but not what it was). Can somebody proficient with abuse filter set up something that prevents Category:Published being removed from a sighted article? I'd have thought a more general anti-blanking filter might be of use as well. BRS (Talk) (Contribs) 17:25, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
