I did some minor editing of 4-year-old boy attacked by Pit bull mix, and published it. Great article. Just as a note about our style; we try to avoid dramatic terms like "terrifying struggle", and stick to facts. Though it may have been frightening for the boy, "terrifying" is a weighted, POV term.
Gotchya. It was the term used in one of the sources. Probably shouldn't have used it for that reason alone, but it did sound good. :) I'll avoid that in the future, but I wasn't sure if that rule applied here as it does on en.wiki. I'll read over policy here more tomorrow. Thanks, Lara♥Love07:28, 24 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
You were correct on the Newsroom collaboration box. Best to put a little note what you want help for exactly, like: "copyediting and sources" or something. Good work. --Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 20:20, 24 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yep, I know the ego-rush you get when your own work is featured on the main page. In any case, congratulations! Please continue to write great articles. MessedRocker (talk) 05:48, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

A new year has started, and contributions, especially original reporting, seem to have increased a bit lately. I'd like to thank and welcome the hundreds of new wikinewsies since the last edition. --Anonymous101 (Talk) 21:13, 7 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I would like to thank our users who have helped increase our level of Original Reporting content. Some users who I think have been especially helpful are Leila Monaghan (talk · contribs) who has got interviews despite being a very new user and BrockF5 (talk · contribs) who has continued to provide us with excellent reports and images. In addition, Brianmc (talk · contribs) has been helpful in combatting vandalism. --Anonymous101 (talk · contribs) 19:47, 19 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

In the last few months activity on Wikinews has continued to decrease to an incredibly low level. There are hardly any new contributers joining and one of our best users, DragonFire1024 (talk · contribs) has gone on Wikibreak. However, some excellent articles are continuing to be written.
