Kaldari, welcome to Wikinews! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Our key policies - if you read anything, read these!

Here a few pointers to help you get to know Wikinews:

There are always things to do on Wikinews:

By the way, you can sign your name on Talk pages using four tildes (~~~~), which produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, you can ask them at the water cooler or to anyone on the Welcommittee, or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome!--Cspurrier 20:04, 29 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Images

Please do not add images to Wikinews unless you plan on using them in an article. --Anonymous101 (talk · contribs) 12:27, 21 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Removing the image from the article isn't allowed under our archive policy (one of the reasons we don't allow the Commons delinker bot to run, even on articles that haven't been published yet). Our extensive archive curation is carefully limited to certain forms allowed under the policy, such as introduction of template {{missing image}} to neatify broken links. --Pi zero (talk) 11:49, 2 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Pi zero: How is an article with a giant red "Image Not Available" banner on it a better archive of the article? It looks ridiculous. The image should just be removed if it doesn't exist any more. Kaldari (talk) 01:38, 11 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
It's an accurate record of the fact that the image was there. --Pi zero (talk) 01:55, 11 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
