Awesome! edit

I've been watching you from the sidelines in IRC. Great work. I really appreciate what you're doing. irid:t 05:09, 24 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. I'm flying by the seat of my pants, so I appreciate that. Any tips would be appreciated. LaraLove 05:14, 24 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
I did some minor editing of 4-year-old boy attacked by Pit bull mix, and published it. Great article. Just as a note about our style; we try to avoid dramatic terms like "terrifying struggle", and stick to facts. Though it may have been frightening for the boy, "terrifying" is a weighted, POV term.
In any case, great work, please keep it up! irid:t 07:12, 24 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Gotchya. It was the term used in one of the sources. Probably shouldn't have used it for that reason alone, but it did sound good. :) I'll avoid that in the future, but I wasn't sure if that rule applied here as it does on en.wiki. I'll read over policy here more tomorrow. Thanks, LaraLove 07:28, 24 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

You were correct on the Newsroom collaboration box. Best to put a little note what you want help for exactly, like: "copyediting and sources" or something. Good work. --Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 20:20, 24 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ah, okay. Thanks. :) LaraLove 02:05, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Main page edit

Yep, I know the ego-rush you get when your own work is featured on the main page. In any case, congratulations! Please continue to write great articles. MessedRocker (talk) 05:48, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Welcome, great to have new contributors join. -- Zanimum 21:11, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • A Wikinews:World News Quiz has been set up after the Quiz extension was added to our MediaWiki repertoire. Users who take the quiz are invited to post their scores on the talk page.
  • Substantial changes have been made to the main page recently. TheFearow has implemented a dynamic news ticker - see Wikinews:Ticker for information and the template at Template:Ticker. Currently only available for almost every browser that isn't IE. IlyaHaykinson added the Template:Lead article with large image to the main page, which is currently the subject of a poll. A complete main page redesign is also being discussed.

In addition, Brianmc (talk · contribs) has been helpful in combatting vandalism. --Anonymous101 (talk · contribs) 19:47, 19 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
