@Cirt: We have Activity week going on, plus, in India, it is festival season. That's why I am active, soon, due to exam, I will no longer appear till my block is lifter. I have asked for the block. Consideration

Please be considerate, when creating new categories such, of the amount of work you're imposing on others. It's not good practice, btw, to create a redirect to a category that hasn't been populated yet, since what you're doing is causing readers who follow the link to go there and as a result believe that we have never published a single article that's related to the category — in other words, you're making Wikinews look bad. --Pi zero (talk) 19:49, 29 October 2015 (UTC)

I expect they do exist. But we really shouldn't create a redirect until after they're actually in the cat.

A general observation: I suspect there may be in the general neighborhood of a thousand categories that we don't have but could uncontroversially create — if we had the human resources to work out and act on exactly which articles, out of the twenty thousand in our archives, belong in each of them. We don't have the human resources to do that all at once. I expect some semi-automated tools could get somewhat better leverage out of the human resources we have, but it still wouldn't be practical to create categories indiscriminately. Identifying a category that should be created cannot always be responded to by immediately creating it. --Pi zero (talk) 20:18, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
