- Commentary pages have been removed again to improve the system, which met with little opposition so far.

- Update on RSS feed circulation: readership jumped from 5,500 to 21,000 on December 12 2006, and then increased again to 36,000 on December 20. Currently just over 30,000 readers access the RSS feed each day. Get writing, people are reading! Dan100 (Talk) 14:59, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
- Wikiversity's Journalism School is looking for contributers and instructors.
- stats are back. Wikinews seems to be more or less steadily increasing. However, the number of newbies is falling slightly.
