Template talk:Publish

Latest comment: 8 days ago by Michael.C.Wright in topic Twitter logo

hmmm... perhaps this page should be protected? if someone removes the published cat from it, all the sudden the publish date information for dpls, and the order of publishing, on all published articles, is lost. that would be very bad. furthermore, noone willever have to change this page. Could I suggest that mark-up of template be changed to:

<includeonly>[[Category:Published]]</includeonly><noinclude>[[Category:Article templates|Publish]]</noinclude>

I'm not sure what the correct location of this template is in an article, at the top of the page or at the bottom, but it seems to be used in both locations. When used at the top of the page, the template as it is currently puts a big gap between the title and the date, see American teenage girl charged with murder of her mother for an example. The above code will resolve this issue. Adambro 15:34, 19 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

done. the convention is for template to be placed at the end of the article, just above the categories. –Doldrums(talk) 15:52, 19 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Okay, thanks and thanks for clarifying where it should go. Adambro 15:54, 19 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Interwikis should go on Template:Publish/doc, which is not fully protected.
I've added it there. --Pi zero (talk) 19:28, 12 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

edit

@Bddpaux The logo of twitter in the template is soo old. Taday, not just it’s logo is changed, but also Twitter became "X". So I think we should update the logo here. We can use:    Tanvir 360 (talk) 09:58, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

I agree. The logo already exists on commons.[1] We could also update the Reddit logo[2], the Facebook logo[3], and the LinkedIn logo[4]. Michael.C.Wright (Talk/Published) 14:40, 27 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
I just realized those icons are part of a sub-template and its update is being discussed here as well: Template_talk:Social_bookmarks#Edit. Michael.C.Wright (Talk/Published) 14:46, 27 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
