Template talk:Notnews-gossip

I don't like this edit

<GRUMBLE> We already have a couple of newsworthiness templates, which seems enough, considering that the first time I saw this, it was misused.

(It was used on an item declaring the winner of a Big Brother series. That item deserves deletion because it is minimal and contains opinion, but if someone wants to dispute the newsworthiness, they should do so on the article talk page, not by plastering this unfriendly template on it. The name of the competition winner is not gossip, even if it is not the kind of news I, personally like to write, review or read.) </GRUMBLE> --InfantGorilla (talk) 20:00, 26 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

InfantGorilla, to quote Peter Griffen (Family Guy) - I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it. - This is a perfectly valid template, and kind of gives a proper version of the "Celebrity 'News'" template made as a bit of a joke some time back. How about I add some documentation to this so and mark it so it only gets added to the talk page, rather than plastered onto the article? Since Bawolff's revision of EzPR, you're advised to read the talk page prior to review anyhow. Personally however, I think it's not worthy of a moan. I discussed it with several editors prior to its creation, and they all agreed it was worth doing. So I did it. BarkingFish (talk) 01:35, 7 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

I no longer object after Shankarnikhil88's rewrite. I will probably use it myself. --InfantGorilla (talk) 07:46, 8 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
