Talk:Three injured in shark attacks at Florida beach
Acronyms
editAccording to the style guide, we are to fully spell acronyms on first use. The name of HCA Fort Walton-Destin Hospital appears to be the common-use name and defining it as Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) Fort Walton-Destin hospital becomes unwieldy. I've edited the article to comply with the style guide. However, @Heavy Water, Cromium: what do you recommend in this kind of situation? Michael.C.Wright (Talk/Published) 13:50, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Michael.C.Wright: Good question. I think just HCA should be fine as long as it is wiki linked to HCA Healthcare. If any readers have never heard of it, they can read about why it uses HCA rather than the full name. [24Cr][talk] 07:33, 12 June 2024 (UTC)
- It looks like Hospital Corporation of America was the original name and now it is, officially, just HCA Healthcare, so I agree. Heavy Water (talk) 19:22, 19 June 2024 (UTC)

Notes for author(s):
Thank you for submitting an article for review! This is a good start for your first article. Please note our style guide details how to format articles. It has specific guidelines for dates, numbers, etc that articles must follow. Take a look at the editing history to see how I formatted dates and times.
Images are another area where formatting is important. If the image pre-dates the event, we should describe it as a file photo. We also add image attribution using the {{image}} template in the description of the photo.
Avoid unattributed conjecture such as 'likely a bull shark,' even if it may be an educated or reasonable assumption. If a source article assumes something, we can include it while attributing it. For example; 'Shark expert Dr. X said attacks like these are usually from bull sharks.'
Also note our policy on sourcing. In addition to the lack of sourcing for the name of the 45yo victim, I could not find in any of the sources that the sherif closed the beach but the closure wasn't enacted in time.
Lastly, all sources listed must be used and redundant sources should be removed. The YouTube video does not provide any unique information not provided in other sources.
Notes for reviewer:
See above regarding sourcing.

I've added hidden notes where changes are needed. Questions about the above? Ask. If possible, please address the above issues then resubmit the article for another review (by replacing {{tasks}} in the article with {{review}}).
