Talk:Harlan Ellison sues CBS-Paramount, WGA over Star Trek royalties
Typo
edit{{editprotected}}
Pull quote contains a grammatical error: "its" should either be "it's" or "its [sic]," depending on source document. Pixeldawg (talk) —The preceding comment was added 05:55, 28 November 2014
- Well, there was an html comment in the page,
its<!-- sic -->
, which I converted to a template call,its{{sic}}
. I left it alone in the pull-quote, though; my thought was that it'd wreck the flow, there. --Pi zero (talk) 17:27, 21 December 2014 (UTC)

Cordwainer Bird - t'aint so, friend
edit{{editprotected}} Ellison did not write "City on the Edge of Forever" under the pseudonym Cordwainer Bird, this statement is a factual error. He wanted to, but Gene Roddenberry strongarmed him into using his real name. This error appears in two places in the article. --Captain Infinity (talk) 18:15, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
Done DragonFire1024 let Captain Infinity make the changes on July 18. --SVTCobra 23:01, 21 July 2009 (UTC) {{editprotected}} Um... That's not how to handle corrections; {{correction}} is now available. BRS (Talk) (Contribs) 02:29, 20 December 2016 (UTC)
- Three step process, then:
- Revert the post-archive change. Done
- Confirm the information.
- Apply a {{correction}} (if confirmed).
- --Pi zero (talk) 01:48, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
- To make matters worse, the way it is described on Wikipedia is in opposition to Captain Infinity's assertion but also not agreement with this article. "Despite his [Roddenberry] objections, Ellison kept his own name on the shooting script instead of using "Cordwainer Bird" to indicate displeasure." However, that too is under 'citation needed'. So WP can't even give us a starting off point for confirming information. --SVTCobra 02:08, 10 May 2018 (UTC)

- [edit conflict] It is now my firm opinion that this article contains way more information than was ever in the sources. The only objective sources listed is The New York Times article which looks to be shorter than this article. I doubt the dead link about a DVD release had so much information, especially considering how much earlier it was supposed to be. I don't know what we can or should do. --SVTCobra 02:26, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
- @SVTCobra: I've proposed a {{correction}} for the specific concern about the pseudonym. I'll consider your more general concern sometime when I'm not spinning down toward sleep. --Pi zero (talk) 02:34, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
- Don't worry about it. We really don't want wade that deeply into the archives. Good night. --SVTCobra 02:37, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
