Talk:Four teenagers shot at Pennsylvania graduation party
Clarification
editThere's a sentence in the final paragraph that reads unclearly to me and seems in conflict with the sources. "A suspect has not yet been released, and the motive for the shooting remains unknown." It seems to suggest an arrest was made but that the court hasn't sent them out on bail, or that they having released their name, rather than there being no suspect as far as police know. —mikemoral (talk · contribs) 10:26, 22 July 2019 (UTC)
- I've rephrased it --DannyS712 (talk) 15:59, 22 July 2019 (UTC)
Backyard
edit@Mikemoral: re Special:Diff/4492606, you said "none of the sources say it was the backyard". Per ABC news, "The teens were enjoying a backyard celebration". I didn't edit directly to avoid an edit conflict. Thanks, --DannyS712 (talk) 01:10, 23 July 2019 (UTC)
- So it does, my bad, I'll restore it. —mikemoral (talk · contribs) 01:11, 23 July 2019 (UTC)

Just a few thoughts: why does it say 'somewhat after midnight' it would have been easier to say just 'after midnight'. It was unusual to see the partial address of the shooting. With that partial address no one hunted down the name of the high school since the article says it was nearby. The other part is who is running the investigation.
I understand the need for getting articles out before freshness as well as not all the facts being available, but this once seemed a bit rushed. These are just some thoughts that may improve the quality of reporting and are meant to be constructive criticism. All the best --AZOperator (talk) 17:10, 24 July 2019 (UTC)
- The wording "somewhat after midnight" was mine. The first-published text had read "Saturday after midnight", which I was concerned could leave some doubt in a reader's mind as to whether it meant shortly after Friday became Saturday, or actually "Saturday night after midnight", which would technically be shortly after Saturday become Sunday. Checking the sources carefully I found it was early Saturday, and proposed this tweak, retaining the reference to midnight in order to clarify that early Saturday morning didn't just mean before sunrise, it meant only slightly after Friday became Saturday. --Pi zero (talk) 17:44, 24 July 2019 (UTC)

editOn my computer, the image that should accompany this article on the main page is not displaying. SelfieCity (talk) 12:13, 25 July 2019 (UTC)
- Images inside the article are not always the same as on the main page. In this case, the image on the main page is the flag of Pennsylvania and not the map from the article. Do you not see the blue flag? --SVTCobra 13:18, 25 July 2019 (UTC)
- It looks fine on a mobile device, actually. SelfieCity (talk) 15:02, 25 July 2019 (UTC)
