Correction issued, needs sighted
edit@Gryllida, Bddpaux, RockerballAustralia, Heavy Water: Salmond's name was misspelled in the image description. It was corrected by an IP account[1] and sighted by me. I have issued a correction but intentionally did not sight the correction statement.
Someone please check the correction statement and sight it. Thank you. Also, is there a standard or norm with corrections in cases like this? Should/could I have self-sighted the correction? Thank you in advance. —Michael.C.Wright (Talk/Published) 15:46, 7 December 2024 (UTC)
- no need to self sight I believe; i've sighted it Gryllida (talk) 10:38, 8 December 2024 (UTC)
- Michael.C.Wright: If something's fixable at the current stage of the article's lifespan in compliance with the archive conventions, by most Wikinewsies' practice there's no need for a correction; I have encountered at least one person who resolves the issue that prompted the correction while issuing it, but that person also doesn't issue corrections for things that the archive conventions consider non-substantive and therefore fixable at any stage, which includes typos. Also, you can sight corrections yourself, although personally I often leave them unsighted for a second opinion if I haven't gotten it already. Heavy Water (talk) 21:01, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
