2012 International AIDS Conference
editI will be attending and reporting on the 2012 International AIDS Conference in Washington DC. Blue Rasberry (talk) 00:57, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
What is this? (Not to put too fine a point on it, but is anyone who actually knows how en.wn works involved in whatever-this-is?) --Pi zero (talk) 19:08, 8 April 2016 (UTC)
- @Pi zero: We might talk here, or we might talk on the project talk page, or you could email me to talk by phone or video. I put documentation on the tool just now and would appreciate feedback. Blue Rasberry (talk) 19:10, 8 April 2016 (UTC)
- Of possible interest, btw: User:Pi zero/essays/vision/sisters. --Pi zero (talk) 19:21, 8 April 2016 (UTC)
- @Pi zero: I am not sure I understand the full vision because some of this is at a level of abstraction beyond which I can imagine, but I agree that some tasks could be supported by wizards. You do not propose an outline or scope of what wizards might cover. I hope that this 2-day editorslab project can advance the conversation about what is more and less helpful to do. If you have further comments on editorslab then please let's talk there. If you want to talk only to me outside the context of that project then we might talk here. Criticism would be welcome either here or there, and the more pointed your criticism could be would be more helpful. Blue Rasberry (talk) 19:31, 8 April 2016 (UTC)
- I come from a background of programming-language design; I'm inclined to think in terms of how a small set of primitives can enable doing vast worlds of things that the original designer could not have specifically imagined. The question of what I can imagine using interactive wiki pages for was, in fact, raised on that page's talk page by Peteforsyth, and I tried to offer some thoughts thereon. --Pi zero (talk) 19:47, 8 April 2016 (UTC)

Abandoned articles
editHi. Ordinarily, if an article doesn't get published, after activity has ceased for four (or more) days it gets tagged with an abandonment warning, and after another two (or more) days it's deleted. Sometimes articles are instead moved to the writer's userspace; usually such articles are OR, but sometimes on request it's done with synthesis. I've just tagged one of those test files with {{subst:aband}}. Would it make sense to userspace them instead of allowing the usual abandonment sequence to run its course? --Pi zero (talk) 16:09, 13 April 2016 (UTC)
- @Pi zero: Could you please userfy whatever would normally be deleted? Sorry for the delay in replying and thanks for the alternative to deletion. Blue Rasberry (talk) 01:24, 25 April 2016 (UTC)
- User:Bluerasberry/A Future to Believe In Rally in Seattle on 3/25 --Pi zero (talk) 02:06, 25 April 2016 (UTC)
- User:Bluerasberry/St. Pat's for All (put it in your userspace to keep things together) --Pi zero (talk) 02:12, 25 April 2016 (UTC)
- @Pi zero: Thanks. The next event article I submit to Wikinews will be my own human-written one. I appreciate your talking this through with me. Blue Rasberry (talk) 14:26, 25 April 2016 (UTC)
- Did you have in mind to write OR? We do strongly recommend cutting your teeth on synthesis before tackling the more advanced original reporting. Some resources of possible interest: WN:Pillars of Wikinews writing; WN:Writing an article; WN:Article wizard. (That last one was something I started, trying for a similar approach to en.wp's article wizard, but I found it too frustrating that it couldn't really be interactive, just make-believe-interactive; so I suspended the effort and have been working on actually empowering wiki markup to specify interactive pages (Help:Dialog).)
- @Pi zero: Thanks - I am considering options. Blue Rasberry (talk) 14:39, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
