Can't believe it

"a coastal town still recovering from a devastating tsunami in 1964." Huh? What the fuck? Were they so lazy to properly design a harbor or whatever they constructed? How is that they never recovered in forty-seven years, don't you think that is an enormous period of time like to recover not only that town/city but many others, and continue their way as before the tsunami? So stupidly moronic, that is.

Here in the United States it takes a generation to recover from a disaster, sometimes they never do.

That's weird. You know we had an earthquake and a tsunami last year? Everything is back to normality, here in my town and everywhere. Soooo! Isn't the United States a "developed country"?

Most definately. However, the reconstruction of everything takes a while. Where I lived we had two devastating floods in 2001 and 2002, most of the people moved away, and we are still demolishing homes from it. Do you remember Hurricane Katrina in 2005? They are still rebuilding homes, and some still live in there emergency trailers. The United States, in my opinion, is so large that it does take a while for the area affected to receive money to rebuild. With prices increasing, it makes it harder.
