I thought you can't use stuff from wikipedia due to licence incompatability?--216.118.68.193 22:13, 21 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

We can't copy text from Wikipedia articles directly into our news articles. Amboxes are not used in the published articles. I am not a lawyer, but that is my interpretation of the rules. --SVTCobra 23:26, 21 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Change coming to how certain templates will appear on the mobile web

edit

@CKoerner (WMF): We noticed some time ago that the mobile appearance of this template had been chosen in a manner that basically trashed the entire en.wn site in mobile view. Since design decisions for this template were evidently being made without regard for us, we decoupled ourselves from those decisions by deprecating this template on en.wn. We're slowly getting rid of the last uses of it here. Speaking from a design perspective, the mobile appearance inappropriately changed the nature of the template out from under existing clients — projects that were using it. --Pi zero (talk) 20:34, 13 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Pi zero: Hey Pi, thanks for the note. I'm sorry the past decisions to hide and format these sorts of templates have caused you frustration. I hope the recommendations I mention in the announcement (which apply to pretty much any template, not just the kind we're talking about) are useful to you. Move documentation to /doc

edit

{{editprotected}}

Move documentation to /doc. As any other template --Dr03ramos (talk) 23:37, 24 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

This is a template which is no longer in use. I am not convinced it is worth the effort, and besides, keeping the license information on this page is a must (GNU FDL), so might as well leave the info here -- it is a historical template, after all.

Done but we need to rationalise the message boxes at some point. [24Cr][talk] 06:08, 24 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
Return to "Ambox" page.
