removal of "leading up to the sentencing" edit

This happened before Wednesday's sentencing. The scandal has been brewing for a while. But it is hitting a boiling point now. Cheers, --SVTCobra 18:35, 27 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

@SVTCobra: My purpose was to restrict the statement to before, rather than after, the sentencing. Perhaps that can be phrased better (I'll consider). But it needs to be limited so as to exclude later fallout, if we're to consider this article still fresh on Saturday. --Pi zero (talk) 18:42, 27 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
All I was saying (and it was written in the version of Jan. 24) that ahead of the sentencing which happened Wednesday, those board members resigned two days before on Monday. It has nothing to do with the follow-up article which is about the resignation of the rest of the board. In retrospect, we can now see that they perhaps knew that the shit was about to hit the proverbial fan, but it was not written with any retrospect. I did see it took you an inordinately long time to chew through this one. Sorry about that. I am shocked that you couldn't find MSU gymnastics and crew. I will look into that. As far as this diff, it is nearly unavoidable to use the same language as everyone else when that's how it's said. It feels like changing "guilty of murder" to "guilt for murder". I didn't really see a problem. Cheers, and thanks for your time today. --SVTCobra 22:30, 27 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Wow, all of the sources have changed. Astonishingly, Reuters keeps the January 24 date on the article, even though they talk about things that happened on the 25th and 26th. But I think it is this "For years, Nassar treated gymnasts and other athletes in an official capacity for USA Gymnastics, Michigan State University and a private gymnastics club." from LA Times that changed. I distinctly remember "crew" being mentioned and thought that was odd because the sports are so unrelated. And I do not remember anything about private gymnastics clubs. Methinks LA Times got something wrong. Anyway, at least it's not in our published article if it was blatantly false that he treated crew (rowing) team members.
