Instagram links edit

I must say, I am not terribly keen on all the Instagram links. It is good to identify the subjects of the photos, but this may be overkill. Cheers, --SVTCobra 12:00, 19 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Okay. I believe that I've done it other conventions? Anyway, I've started to prep an alternative, copying all of the links down to an external links section. To whomever reviews, this is obviously meant as a "one or the other" thing, not intending to include the links twice. -- Zanimum (talk) 13:58, 19 March 2018 (UTC) Zanimum (talk) 13:58, 19 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
I should also note, the reason for links at all is to try and suck up to the cosplayers, so that they continue to be willing to pose for me at future events. People like Stavvy and Luxlo have tens of thousands of followers, possibly hundreds, on Instagram, and both were paying guests as opposed to exhibitors. So yeah, basically sucking up to people with fancy clothes, over the long term. Zanimum (talk) 14:02, 19 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
We certainly do want to be considerate to what might be thought of as light interviewees, without compromising other principles. --Pi zero (talk) 00:36, 28 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
(The other principle involved is isolating external links. This really is a delicate point to balance.) --Pi zero (talk) 00:47, 28 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
I really wish I had never heard about the quid pro quo aspect of this. Especially, knowing that people do make a living off of Instagram. Of course, I have no idea how many followers it takes to become "professional" at Instagram. --SVTCobra 00:54, 28 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
Mm. Well, I've tried something. --Pi zero (talk) 03:03, 28 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
Intriguing, I didn't even know that you could do anchors that way on Media Wiki. I like the method, @Pi zero:, it works! Zanimum (talk) 08:38, 28 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
:-) I've been using a similar technique for the past year or so for the glossary of the Conlang wikibook. --Pi zero (talk) 13:03, 28 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Quotes edit

So I've just talked to two women pictured in the article, and sent screenshots of our Facebook Messenger chats to the scoop email.

For the sake of transparency to those without the account, ie readers, iluvcookiess' full quote is: "Cosplaying and fursuiting gives you a chance to break free from your every day, it brings confidence, comfort, and creativity. I love seeing the smiles on peoples faces when they see my fursuit (Berrie) and the joy when they interact with her, they are why I wear her!"

Dayna the Sloth's full quote is: "Valkyrie Eevee played by Seconddegreebyrne messaged me and asked me to assemble a group of girls willing to help with the Eeveelutions

I contacted all the girls and they were immediately excited. We all got to work around new years 2018. We communicated through group chat, sharing tips and photos and getting more and more excited for Comicon. It was a great way for us to bond as well. We all became great friends

All of our costumes are hand made by ourselves. Each girl made her own build. We are all incredibly proud of Each other and couldn't have asked for a better group."

Additional quote, via Trillian Zee:

Wearing Sailor Moon to a convention is always my favorite because it reminds me why I love my hobbies. I feel like I get so much love and support from other sailor moon fans and it really motivates me to make something bigger and better for the next con Zanimum (talk) 15:10, 26 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Cosplay Sisters:

We love going to toronto comiccon every year. The cosplays keep getting better and better each year with more people dressing up! This con we decided to dress up as some of the x-men. Emma frost, Psylocke and Mystique. We had a lot of fun getting dressed up as some of our favourite mutants.

(I expect this will be everyone, @Pi zero:.) Zanimum (talk) 15:34, 26 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

One last one, Holly Wolf:

Cosplay and comic con is the perfect way to celebrate you me favourite fandoms, and interact with Like minded people around you.

I love video games and movies, and cosplay is an outlet to express that love. Zanimum (talk) 17:17, 26 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
