Talk:UK's Radio 1 "Big Weekend" closes, sinister plot game continues

OR Notes

I was a member of the online team solving the puzzles. All interviews and photographs are from the ground team, and interviews were conducted by myself. Permission was obtained to use the photograph of the players disabling the transmitter. --Skenmy(tcwi) 19:23, 19 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Interview Transcripts

<skenmy> 1) How would you describe the overall "feel" of the event, referring specifically to the FIA event
<_SB|ill> I would definitely describe it as hectic. I felt it was very team building as well, as we had to work together for the entire event.
<skenmy> 2) What did you think about the Big Weekend itself? Was the event interesting and fun to be inside - a good setting for an ARG?
<_SB|ill> For me personally, I found it very crowded in places, and at times the music was a bit off putting. However, I do feel that the busy-ness of the actual Big Weekend contributed to the setting for the ARG, and so I do think it was a good setting. It also involved several outsiders as they asked questions about what we were doing, thus advertising Perplex City well.
<skenmy> 3) What, would you say, was the highlight of the day for you?
<_SB|ill> Finding the first poster for ourselves. It was spotted on the side of a bin that was being taken out of the arena, and Izzy and Ben ran after it shouting "STOP WE NEED TO SEE WHAT'S ON THE SIDE!". It was a brilliant start to the event, and amusing as well. I think they thought we were completely nuts!
<skenmy> 1) How would you describe the overall "feel" of the event, as an online participant?
<MasterCheese> As long as you don't make me sound like a raving lunatic
<MasterCheese> Well the whole thing was great fun, there was plenty for us to do out here, and it was great to be able to help with such a huge thing.
<skenmy> 2) What, do you feel, was the greatest single achievement of the online team
<MasterCheese> The greatest achievement was almost definitely finding the triangles. To find something that important from something as insignificant as those dots was quite impressive.

This article looks like it could be a featured after it gets cleaned up a bit. Excellent work.  Thunderhead  ►  18:31, 20 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Define "cleaned up a bit" :P --Skenmy(tcwi) 18:37, 20 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
It's all a bit too on line to me... it was a game on an event, the details are beyond my interest. Also, there are some external links in the text body which I think need to move to EL.--Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 18:46, 20 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Oh and btw have a look at the current WN:FAC and vote please! If you haven't already take a look at our current WN:FA-list, it sets the standard for future candidates... --Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 18:47, 20 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

"Sinister plot"

edit

An ARG is hardly a sinister plot; the operators have no plans to rob a bank or take over the world (as far as I'm aware!), or any other ulterior motive. How about simply "The weekend also played host to an alternative reality game, portraying a fictional sinister plot" or the likes... Smurrayinchester 20:23, 20 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

That works for me! --Skenmy(tcwi) 15:18, 21 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

There are many inline links to "Perplex City Wiki" which is not, I believe, a foundation project. Is that allowed? --SVTCobra 23:06, 21 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
