headline
editCould you please change headline to active voice

Thanks, Gryllida (talk) 10:17, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- Done
- I figured that "South Korea" would have been sufficient for the "Where" question, so what were you looking for, specifically?

- Ping: Gryllida (t · c · b) JJPMaster (she/they) 15:16, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- i.e Where did the assembly take place
- what is the martial law is still unclear Gryllida (talk) 22:55, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- I think we need to remove nytimes source as it is paywalled. Does it have information that other sources don't? Can it be removed or supported by another source? Gryllida (talk) 23:03, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- When: "Around 23:00 local time on Tuesday (14:00 GMT)," (BBC source) (information supported only by one source) Would be great to find an additional source supporting this, then add this information into first paragraph. When adding time, add its equivalent in UTC in parentheses also.
- How: Apparently the martial law was called on TV address. (bbc, cnn)
- Hope you can add this information @JJPMaster as my editing would make me involved in editing and then I cannot review? Gryllida (talk) 23:12, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- "President Yoon's speech attributed his decision to impose military rule to the National Assembly initiating "22 impeachment motions against government officials, and ... pushing for the impeachment of 10 more" ---- when did this happen? Gryllida (talk) 23:13, 5 December 2024 (UTC)

Review of revision 4807818 [Not ready]

Revision 4807818 of this article has been reviewed by Michael.C.Wright (talk · contribs) and found not ready at 15:10, 6 December 2024 (UTC).
Comments by reviewer: I didn't review the article past the lede. As you correct the issues below and the issues identified by Gryllida, please also consider adding {{verify}} to all statements to indicate the source used. This will help with the review process. I have done so on the first paragraph as an example. Style I removed an unsourced statement. According to the BBC, martial law was declared due to ""anti-state forces" and the threat from North Korea," not because of subversive activity from the opposition Democratic Party. Without that statement, the "why" is not addressed. The answer to the "why" questions should also be attributed. Sources The NYTimes utilizes a WN:Paywall and therefore can't be used as a source. For both the WaPo and CNN pages, please use deep links to indicate from which update or sub-article you've sourced material. Both articles provide deep links to each update. Questions about the above? Ask. If possible, please address the above issues then resubmit the article for another review (by replacing {{tasks}} in the article with {{review}}). This talk page will be updated with subsequent reviews. |

Misquote
editIn the second paragraph the following quote is attributed to Yoon, citing the transcript of his speech: "22 impeachment motions against government officials, and ... pushing for the impeachment of ten more."
The transcript states the following: "...22 motions to impeach government officials, and has been pushing for the impeachment of a 10th individual..."[1]
These two statements do not say the same thing and this directly addresses the "why" of declaring martial law, therefore if I remove it, the article fails the WN:5Ws requirement.
Once the quote is corrected, place it back in the review queue I will resume the review. —Michael.C.Wright (Talk/Published) 15:30, 7 December 2024 (UTC)

Revision 4808386 of this article has been reviewed by Michael.C.Wright (talk · contribs) and has passed its review at 15:31, 8 December 2024 (UTC).
Comments by reviewer: There were significant differences in more than one quote included in this article. I corrected two without expanding the article. I suspect (hope) the discrepancies were the result of machine translation of sources by our author. In the future, please ensure that quotes exactly match our sources. I removed additional, unsourced statements. See the edit history for details. To help ensure future articles are published in a timely manner, please make sure all information is correctly and accurately sourced, all quotes are exactly as our sources indicate, and the article conforms to our style guide. The reviewed revision should automatically have been edited by removing {{Review}} and adding {{Publish}} at the bottom, and the edit sighted; if this did not happen, it may be done manually by a reviewer. |
