Headline? edit

@Zanimum: We do strongly prefer headlines that are sentences (with a verb in them). --Pi zero (talk) 13:57, 30 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Date? edit

@Zanimum: Are we late, on this? The lede doesn't pin things down with specific dates, and it should specify those, but meanwhile I see the dates on the photos are four days ago. Brianmc was quite strong on the principle that photo essays, although a form of original reporting, not be afforded the freshness-extending effect that bears on some forms of OR. Thoughts? --Pi zero (talk) 14:06, 30 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

If I talk to a cosplayer, get insight on their process, does that work? -- Zanimum (talk) 14:46, 30 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Zanimum: Yes, that should work to extend freshness by the requisite 'bit'. As I recall we did that once before with one of these photo essays. (It'd also be desirable to specify the days when the event took place.) --Pi zero (talk) 15:18, 30 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Pi zero: I can do about half of them, but only what character they are. The rest I either don't know who they are, or whatever they said into my audio recording was unintelligible. -- Zanimum (talk) 14:47, 30 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Text of reply from "Aileen Cosplay" edit

This afternoon, I messaged the Facebook account "Estrada Sisters". Aileen replied, saying the text below. -- Zanimum (talk) 23:28, 30 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Cosplay is something we do together as sisters, as well as with our close friends. It's a hobby and passion that we all share and have fun with. Cosplay integrates a wide range of interests for us, from makeup, to sewing, to crafting and prop-making. We've been cosplaying for approximately 10 years. When deciding on cosplays, we consider how attracted we are to the character as they were written, as well as their aesthetic. We tend to stray towards Disney, as we all share a common passion for the magic that it brings to its audience, and we love having the opportunity to bring that magic to life every time we put on a costume. Updated edit

@Pi zero: I've added an interview with Aileen Cosplay, conducted through Facebook Messenger. I also sent an email to another cosplayer featured, haven't received anything from her yet. If she replies a bit after the article is approved, can it be added after? -- Zanimum (talk) 23:45, 30 May 2018 (UTC) Zanimum (talk) 23:45, 30 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Zanimum: For the first 24 hours after publication, substantive changes to an article are permitted. Changes are usually relatively small. It's possible for a change to be just too huge to allow; I think I saw a contemplated change rejected, once, because it would have altered the focus of the article, so that in effect it wouldn't have been the same article anymore. --Pi zero (talk) 01:01, 31 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Text of reply from Binrand edit

The following reply was made via email to user:zanimum/Nick Moreau, after the event: -- Zanimum (talk) 13:49, 1 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi Nick, Thank you for your questions! Cosplay for me is a huge creative outlet whether that's sewing, crafting, armour building, styling wigs, new makeup challenges etc. I love that it gives me creative freedom and that the end result I can share with hundreds of people that have a love and passion for the same character or series that I am cosplaying from. It's a chance to meet new friends that are just excited about something as you are. When I pick the characters I cosplay it's because I have become attached to them in some way. Often it's a combination of similar personality as my own, a character that has gone through similar struggles as myself, I like the look, and that they just plain badass! I also like a challenge. Having been doing cosplay for as long as I have I like to switch things up and learn something new every year. This year with Shyvana I really wanted to work with Worbla's Transpa Art to make an icy character and she fit the criteria. Hope that helps! Thanks for including me in this :) (also I noticed there was a picture of a Mercy and widowmaker in your article which is chibi_bara_cosplay and bobcat.in.a.box) Zanimum (talk) 21:13, 31 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
