Hi David.

Another good interview. Congrats. I noticed that you said you had audio. When you post your notes, might I suggest uploading the raw audio and linking it here on the collaboration page. That is the best way to document your work. --SVTCobra 23:51, 9 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Cobra. I don't have the software yet to put it into OGG. OR Info: The interview was conducted in person on Saturday, October 6, 2007, in New York City. --David Shankbone 00:38, 10 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
Actually, all you need is a simple ogg converter. It works for me. FellowWiki Newsie 00:42, 10 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
It's something to look into, but to be honest, I am five interviews behind in transcription and I have five major interviews ahead of me this week, so...there's only so much I can do at once :-) --David Shankbone 00:56, 10 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
If you need help converting to ogg, you could just email it to me in whatever format you have, and I'll convert and upload. user:Bawolff 22:39, 10 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

A very large edit was done by an ip address.... thoughts david? Lyellin 04:38, 10 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

It's done by the subject. I don't know what I think about it yet, but I'm a little annoyed. --David Shankbone 05:21, 10 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
I was about to revert it but I figured I'd check the talk page first. Besides censoring a swear word or two, and fiddling with the wording here and there, it's also introduced at least one formatting issue and some typos (and not to mention introduced whole sentences). It makes sense that it was done by the subject, since it seems to keep the same tone, but I do agree that it's a tricky thing to handle. Well, I had told her to edit the Fat women and sexuality section to help alleviate some concerns she had about impact in her real life. I sent her an e-mail to hold off on making such widespread edits. The issue for me is that there is something special that happens in a face-to-face interview, and a lot of people would like to change or add words later when they get to think about it; or they would like to make their words more promotional. I don't think that's a good way to go with these. But I don't know if these changes she made harmed that "specialness". --David Shankbone 12:57, 10 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
If you are using a to-and-fro interview for a story the wording should not be changed. Especially not by the interview subject. --Brian McNeil / talk 23:06, 10 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

misquote?

edit

hey there. i don't want to edit your interview, since i haven't listened to the original audio, but i think that "but I don't necessarily have an interesting in being thing like Britney Spears" should probably have "interest" instead of "interesting". Wikisoup 16:40, 10 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

also, there are two similar (but not identical) paragraphs in a row. the first one starts with "Then there are those for whom it's kind of a fetish". Wikisoup 16:55, 10 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

I fixed those things. Thanks for pointing them out. --David Shankbone 17:13, 10 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
No prob. Thanks for doing the interview! Great job. Wikisoup 19:02, 10 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

NPOV?

edit

Doesn't seem quite NPOV... A bit of the wording.--204.58.123.10 18:19, 11 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Interviews aren't news articles and they aren't NPOV; and Wikinews is not an encyclopedia. An interview is inherently POV - it's that person's POV. --David Shankbone 18:39, 11 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

The article says 'and and' in a quote. Either the quote is correct so [sic] should be added. Or it is incorrect and one 'and' should be removed. Van der Hoorn (talk) 19:31, 25 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
