A rather lengthy passage too close to source. The key significance, about not-since-1940, needed to be in the lede to help bolster newsworthiness, especially since the article is way at the far end of its freshness window. There were at least two errors of fact, one about the carriage being a replica from 1918 instead of from 1940, and the other about sitting side-by-side being similar to what had been done on the previous occasions instead of the opposite of what had been done. Each of these was a binary error, but it was pretty disconcerting to encounter them back-to-back. I'm thinking the later events don't in themselves cancel the newsworthiness of this one, which carries its own weight. The reviewed revision should automatically have been edited by removing {{Review}} and adding {{Publish}} at the bottom, and the edit sighted; if this did not happen, it may be done manually by a reviewer.

What the hell is the headline trying to say? "and" was not needed and a comma would have suffice, but "Macron", "Merkel", "Armistice Day"? How do you think it works for international audience, Pi?

Sought feedback from someone off-line about this, since time is short. They felt it was a significant improvement, and re the imperfect conveyance of who those people are they remarked (and it is a valid point, if not taken too far), read the article.
