Talk:Joop den Uyl biography reveals Northrop bribe of Prince Bernhard

I am confused, there was a big scandal so the Lockheed bribe wasn't covered up, it was the Northrop bribe that was covered up, right? I can't read the sources, so I can't be sure. --SVTCobra 22:30, 20 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

The Lockheed bribe was a big scandal, but never got to court. The Northrop bribe was covered up.. Can't find any English sources (yet), sorry... Theo Assen - (talk) 22:34, 20 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
That's OK, English sources are not a requirement. I just couldn't do my copy-edit until I understood what was going on, which you have now cleared up. Thanks, --SVTCobra 22:48, 20 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
I know, but I allways try to find at least one English source to make the c/e job easier for you guys :D
One question: you changed the fact that Beatrix would have denied the throne to that she would have been prevented to succeed Juliana. Actually she could, even if her father would have been taken to court, still become queen. Beatrix decided however, that should there be a law suit against her father she would make the decision not to accept the throne. It was her own choice however. This was for Den Uyl a major motivation to keep the Northrop scandal under his hat, since in case Beatrix should deny the throne a major constitutional crisis would be a fact in the Netherlands... I'm not sure how to put this in the article, but will give it a try. Theo Assen - (talk) 07:03, 21 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
I added some more info to the article, hoping the situation is more clear now. I would appreciate you to check it once more. Thanks, Theo Assen - (talk) 07:23, 21 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
