Suspecting no-one would have time to fuss with revisions, I cut liberally as necessary, hoping I'd be left with something viable; fortunately the lede remained intact except for a relatively minor snip. If somebody does have time, 24 hours post-publish is still most of what would have been the standard freshness window.
