Note about sourcing for Gannon edit

The point about Gannon was brought up here at Mark Hoofnagle's blog which is what prompted me to note it in the article. I'm not sure if Hoofnagle's observation should be credited directly in the article or not. Input in that regard would be good. JoshuaZ 00:49, 27 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Title is misleading edit

{{editprotected}} They weren't posing as fake reporters; they were fake reporters, and they were posing as real reporters. Angr (talk) 16:16, 10 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

I'd agree. WN:ARCHIVE means we won't be changing the title; I'll leave a protected edit request here to attract more eyes to the issue of if we should issue a correction. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 16:49, 10 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
An interesting case from the days of self-publish. It's easy for the author to just not see stuff like this; two other registered users added to the article, but nobody was specifically charged with checking others' work for problems.
Although readers will likely be suspicious when they read the headline, and realize the error when they read the lede, it seems appropriate for us to acknowledge the problem. I've suggested a correction, but not sighted the edit. --Pi zero (talk) 17:20, 10 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Sighted. I guess that wraps this up. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 17:47, 10 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
