- I am not keen on the only OR aspect of this being former articles. Further, I wonder why it is treated as if Labor, Greens and DS4SEQ are the only parties to this election. --SVTCobra 00:50, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

Hi Patrick,
Thanks for taking an interest in the DS4SEQ Party. I have provided answers, which can be found below each of the questions. If you would like further information, please don't hesistate to contact me.
1. Why do you want to form gavernment?
DS4SEQ would like to gain a sizeable percentage of the primary vote and win a number of seats. As we are a single issue party, voting for us will send a clear message to the major parties and that is: when it comes to the issue of daylight saving, the people of South East Queensland have ben ignored for too long, and a dual time zone arrangement must be implemented.
2. What are the three main policies you will take into this election? DS4SEQ is a single issue political party, with the sole policy being: to have Daylight Saving Time introduced into the South East Queensland region, under a dual time zone arrangement aligned to Australian Eastern Daylight Time. Daylight Saving is a lifestyle and business choice and one that the majority of South East Queenslanders would like to have. We acknowledge that there are many important issues facing the State of Queensland, however, DS4SEQ do not believe that this is a valid reason to ignore the majority voice who support daylight saving.
3. How will you address thes policies? The dual time zone concept that DS4SEQ is proposing is a well thought out compromise to the current situation that obviously does not work. The dual time zone boundary is formed by the inclusion of 15 local council areas and provides a respectful view towards regional and rural Queenslanders, whilst also giving consideration tot he view of the majority of residents in South East Queensland. This will allow regional and rural Queensland to continue to operate on Australian Eastern Standard time, whilst the South East Queensland region adopts Daylight Saving Time for 6 months of the year.
4. Who will lead your party if you gain more than one or two seats in parliament? Jason Furze is the elected Party Leader
5. If you can't form government, who would you like to see do so? DS4SEQ do not offer an opinion of which Party may form the next State Government. However, what we would like to see, is for both major parties to change their thinking about Daylight Saving in Queensland, and seriously consider a dual time zone arrangement for 6 months of the year.
6. What should Queenslanders keep in mind, when heading to the polls? Vote # 1 DS4SEQ and number 2 whicher party you would like to govern the state. Voting DS4SEQ number 1, will not be a wasted vote, because if the Party gains a sizeable percentage of the primary vote, winning a few seats along the way, this will allow us to convince the major parties to change their thinking on the issue of daylight saving. As demonstrated by the 2007 Queensland Government research, about 70% of constituents within South East Queensland are in favour of daylight saving. State-wide, those who are against are now the minority, and mostly reside in the regional and rural districts outside of the DS4SEQ proposed daylight saving region. It has been 17 years since the people of Queensland have had a say on daylight saving, and in this time there has been a major shift in community attitudes demonstrating an increase in support. "It's About Time!" that the people of South East Queensland had a voice on this issue. South East Queensland we are your voice, and "It's About Time!"

1. Why have daylight saving in only part of the state instead of the whole state?
Daylight Saving in Queensland appears to be a geographical issue. The results of the 1992 Referendum show that the concept was favoured by 51 (out of 89) electorates, all of which were located in the South East Queensland Region. In 2007, the Queensland Government commissioned AC Nielsen to undertake research. The results of this research indicated that 69% of respondants in the South East Queensland region were in favour of Daylight Saving, with only 20% opposed. This research also indicated that 59% of respondants outside of the South East region were opposed to Daylight Saving being introduced into their region. Overall those opposed to daylight saving in Queensland has decreased from 54.5% in 1992 to only 34% against, according to the Nielsen findings. South East Queensland businesses are also overwhelmingly in favour of having Daylight Saving introduced into the region.
As Daylight Saving is not favoured outside of the South East Queensland region, DS4SEQ believe that a dual time zone is a compromise that respects the needs of regional and rural Queenslanders, while also giving fair consideration to the view of the majority of residents in South East Queensland.
2. What benefits would daylight saving have for Southe East Queensland?
By moving the time of the clock against the natural occurring solar movement, Daylight Saving provides allowance for an hour less sunlight in the very early morning, when about 80% of people are sleeping, and provide an hour more sunlight in the evening, which can the be utilised. Benefits that can be gained from the introduction of daylight saving into South East Queensland are:
* Promotes more of an outdoor lifestyle * Allows more time for outdoor family activities * Allows more time to perform outdoor garden activities e.g. mowing the lawn * Provides a positive effect on health * Improved safety and security for evening leisure activities and public transport * Promotes tourism * Increases economic efficiences for majority of business dealings from South East Queensland * Studies have suggested that, in the long term, Daylight Saving can reduce traffic accidents and road fatalities.
3. How soon would you like to see a referendum on the issue of dayligh saving?
DS4SEQ are not advocating a referendum. DS4SEQ's political goal is to convince the major parties to change their thinking about Daylight Saving in Queensland, to adapt to Queensland's changing landscape and "It's About Time!" that serious consideration was given to our dual time zone concept.
4. What questions would you like see on the ballot paper for said referendum?
As per the previous question, DS4SEQ are not advocating a referendum, but seeking a revised policy on Daylight Saving in Queensland, by both major parties, to seriously consider a dual time zone arrangement for 6 months of the year.
5. Will DS4SEQ keep campaigning for daylight saving in South Eas Queensland if you don't get any seats in parliament?
The current stance taken by both major parties, in relation to Daylight Saving in Queensland, is outdated, out of touch and inflexible. South East Queenslanders are frustrated that neither major party is currently prepared to explore options on the issue of Daylight Saving.
Whilst DS4SEQ is aiming to win seats in the Queensland Parliament, we believe that gaining a sizeable percentage of the primary vote will send the key message to the major parties that they can no longer ignore: When it comes to the issue of Daylight Saving, the people of South East Queensland have been ignored for too long, and a dual time zone arrangement must be implemented.
With a sizeable percentage of the vote achieved, DS4SEQ will be able to lobby the Government and Opposition, with evidence that constituents are demanding Daylight Saving to be implemented within the South East Queensland region.
My solution ...
editAs you are keen on getting this published, I resolved to move the links to articles to "Related news". From there they can be used just like sources. Additionally, I attributed the OR quotes to Wikinews. I think this is more than just a work-around, but probably how this should be handled in the future.
