SARS-CoV-2 surpasses one million confirmed infections in the United States

Yesterday, the total number of confirmed cases of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infections surpassed one million in the United States, (JHU) data indicated. The coronavirus causes COVID-19, a sometimes-fatal disease. The milestone came a few weeks after the total number of infections worldwide surpassed one million on April 2.
The United States has the highest number of known infections, as of yesterday, with confirmed infections in the next highest country, Spain, totaling to around a quarter of a million.
The United States also has the highest number of deaths related to COVID-19, according to the JHU data; at least 55,000 deaths linked to COVID-19 in the United States as of yesterday, with the number rising by over one 1,000 deaths per day according to the Italy, the country with the next highest number of COVID-19-related deaths, had around 27,000 as of yesterday.website.
According to reports, the number of confirmed cases trails the true number of infections.
