I was really shocked when i saw the article and what the killer whale did to the trainer in front of thousands od people watching. But if they already knew that it had issues why diddnt they release before this accident happened ?Brideezy (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 04:57, 11 March 2010 (UTC)

OMG WHALE RUSH

Let's be fair, it is called a KILLER whale. Is it really shocking it KILLED someone?

Well, one of the sources did say it has already killed in back in 1999.

OMG what?

This is one of the dangers of their job. About every ten years, it seems like, a trainer at one of the marine parks gets killed or seriously injured.

It's been 11 years, but who's counting? :p

Actually it's properly called an orca, and they are referred to as 'killer whales' not for their violence towards humans but towards their prey.

To be fair one of the individuals that the whale killed, did sneak in and got naked in his tank. --KDP3 (talk) 23:59, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

MMM... interspecies erotica. ;) But yeah, that guy had it coming, I don't want a naked man humping me. However, I don't want to be randomly grabbed either and thrashed about.

oh come on guys its a animal versus two human lives its taken already!! i say kill the dam thing... it has a history of murdering human beings its only going to kill again.... dont u think??? of course they say the whale is worth millions but arent humans worth that too??

There are 6 billion plus humans, there are ... what? A few hundred of those whales. I think we're more replaceable than they are.

Worldwide population estimates are uncertain, but one recent study estimated more than 50,000.

i dont think the whale should be killed. he is called a KILLER Whale. Seriously these people know wha they get into when they train with these animals. I'm sure he doesnt want to be in an okay sized pool. He wants room 2 swim around in and be with way more whales. maybe they should give them their freedom!

SeaWorld officials already stated they have no intent to euthanize the animal.

As much as I can and do feel for the trainer killed in this incident, as with all all wild animals in captivity - We never truly tame them. Tilly does have a history involving the death of humans.. furthermore all of the trainers know that they interact with the Orca at great personal risk.

I personally do not condone the use of any animal in a show theme setting, but Sea World does a great deal more then offer just entertainment. Its conservation efforts are to be applauded.

The trainer was probably a sister and was paid well...
