The title for this article is clearly meant to mislead the viewer to gain attention, by associating it with the idea of a NoW-esque hacking scandal when it is really something totally different. That shows pretty low journalistic standards.
Speaking as the reviewer who cleared this for publication, that potential effect of the title didn't even occur to me at the time. I do see it, as you point it out, and I'm not sure why I didn't see it then — I can't reconstruct my state of mind, at this late date. And of course I can't speak for the author's intentions.
