Comments:Oil prices reach all-time high; pass US$91.00 per barrel

I wonder how low oil prices would be if they were based on what happens, not what some people think might happen.

Given current stockpiles and proven reserves, I'd estimate the price to $40 or so, meaning that the current risk-premium in crude is an astonishing $50. --SVTCobra 15:51, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

I believe the price for making coal-gasification economical is ~$70 or $80 a barrel, cool. Fephisto 15:29, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

How high do you think it has to go before there is a significant decrease in the amount of oil people use? Or, at what price would you stop fuelling up and find alternative modes of transportation? Wikisoup 16:54, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
