Possible eyewitness disputes that crowd were throwing missiles as police treated man (unconfirmed that it was the same incident). See Red Pepper's Twitters [1] and [2].

The Police lying? How could that be possible?

Knowing the kind of people that protest at such events, I can certainly believe the police. How many broken windows and burned cars do we see after each "anti-globalization" protest each year? Damn scum... bring on the tear gas. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 131.107.0.105 (talkcontribs)

Check your sources before publishing your story - the Met Police obviously cannot be trusted. —77.17.51.184 13:23, 10 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

{{editprotected}} See what really happened in w:Death of Ian Tomlinson. The version presented here is obviously the police version which has been proven to be a lie. Please add a note to the news item.--87.162.16.190 09:34, 19 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Not done Sorry, Wikinews is not an encyclopedia. We present what was in the news at a certain time. --SVTCobra 00:30, 6 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
edit conflict   Not done The story is not technically incorrect, because it documents what was known at the time, not what is known now. Thus, a {{correction}} notice is not warranted. However, an {{update}} notice, linking to a newer article, could be added to the bottom of the page instead, to notify readers of newer developments. (Although I don't think we had an update article to this.) tempodivalse 00:34, 6 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
