This is why when and if there is real environmental selection, the human race is doomed. Here we have a child with a very curable malignancy who has a treatment that is almost certain to cure him. (As stated in the article, Hodgkins lymphoma is very frequently curable with appropriate treatment). If the child does not want chemotherapy, so what? It is needed to prevent his death, which is almost certain without chemotherapy. I could understand the and child's resistance to chemotherapy more if he had an incurable cancer, such as glioblastoma multiforme or advanced rhabdomyosarcoma, where chemotherapy would be unlikely to be life-saving, rather simply extending the childs life.
