It's a country, albeit a disputed one. We provide categories for all the internationally recognized countries regardless of whether they have any articles —I think there's one around somewhere that doesn't have any— and this has two articles which seems to me, under the circumstances, to be plenty to justify leaving it in place (since it already exists) against future use. --Pi zero (talk)
I don't think it can be described as 'internationally recognized' when only Turkey recognizes it; it seems to me that it would simply be nationally recognized, and just as well it is internationally recognized as part of the Republic of Cyprus.--Avertis (talk) 14:11, 28 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
Clarification: I didn't mean to suggest it was internationally recognized, which it isn't. My intent was to remark on what we do for the ones that are, as background for the discussion. I seem to recall we have several disputed-country categories, and have toyed with the idea of creating a container category for them. --Pi zero (talk) 14:29, 28 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
Perhaps the fact it is disputed might lead to articles being written about it? Just a suggestion, Qwerty number1 (talk) 17:37, 21 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Well, there were some other articles in our archives that could fairly belong to this category, so that takes care of the insufficient-number-of-articles problem. --Pi zero (talk) 18:42, 21 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
