Religious leader
edit@Pi zero: I think by adding Charlie, you are opening the door for Osama bin Laden and a perhaps a couple other militants you professed to want to keep out. --SVTCobra 18:09, 25 August 2019 (UTC)
- @SVTCobra: How can we justify keeping him out of Category:Religious leaders? I mean, really. The leader of a cult. Unless we start differentiating between cults and religions, and that seems even more fraught. How is Charlie any less a religious leader than Fred? --Pi zero (talk) 18:14, 25 August 2019 (UTC)
- Okay, maybe I'll concede the point. --Pi zero (talk) 18:21, 25 August 2019 (UTC)
- (edit conflict)Well, I think you set the bar lower than I had anticipated when you used the word "aspire". How many followers did the "Family" have? Enough to be a flock or congregation? Westboro numbers around 70 people long after Fred's death.
- Also, here's what I mean about bin Laden, OBL issued fatawa which is an action of a person who aspires to be a religious leader. And OBL sure as heckfire had a lot more followers than good ole Charlie. Cheers, --SVTCobra 18:23, 25 August 2019 (UTC)
- Hmm. I had the distinct impression the "Manson Family" never numbered more than ten people, however, WP says 100 and I've now seen numbered collages naming as many as 40. What happens if we both concede? We start arguing for the opposite point? --SVTCobra 18:32, 25 August 2019 (UTC)
- Newsweek says 26 of the Family were arrested [1] --SVTCobra 18:39, 25 August 2019 (UTC)
- @SVTCobra: I decided the "Manson Family" was more of a political cult than a religious cult. --Pi zero (talk) 18:59, 25 August 2019 (UTC)
- OK, or even a lifestyle cult if there is such a thing. --SVTCobra 19:04, 25 August 2019 (UTC)

@SVTCobra: If he isn't a religious leader because his cult wasn't a religious cult, and supposing he isn't a militant because his cult wasn't a militant group, is he an activist? --Pi zero (talk) 00:03, 3 September 2019 (UTC)
- Well, if it was a political cult, does it make him a politician? Although, genuinely, I don't see any real political message. His notions of being a guru seem to have come and gone as quickly as his Son of Man notion. I see a degenerate petty criminal and grifter who one day discovered he could influence people and decided to lead a life of sex, drugs and rock'n'roll by manipulating people to do stuff for him. I do not see an activist. --SVTCobra 01:30, 3 September 2019 (UTC)
