Spain — The Prime Minister of Spain José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero visited Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Uruguay recently, in a effort to build a left axis in South America.

The cited countries' South American Presidents agreed to collaborate at international level, particularly in the United Nations, European Union and with Paris, Berlin and Madrid.

Zapatero visited the following cities in four days: Brasilia, São Paulo, Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile. According to official sources these visits are the last part of the project he began at the EU-Latin American Summit in Guadalajara, Mexico and pursued in the IberoAmerican meeting in Costa Rica in November.
