Wikinews talk:WikiBureau United States

Latest comment: 15 years ago by Buddpaul in topic Texas??

The only concern I have with this idea is that it would put stories on obscure sub-pages where they would be unlikely to be read.

How important would a story in Peoria, Illinois have to be in order to be promoted to the main page?

No one ever intentionally visits Peoria, Illinois, so few editors would be inspired to report news that had happened there if it was not also mentioned on a higher page in the tree of pages.

So, I suggest that stories appear on the appropriate WikiBureau page, and the main page as well.

Thanks for trying to organize the site into departments.

The way I look at it is this: In the early stages, we put all the articles on the main page, and the appropiate sub pages. BUT, the goal is to make decent bureaus for every area that has editors, so we can still use/highlight these. Perhaps put links for each bureau on the workspace, or make a bureau list of active bureaus, along with perhaps a "featured bureau" on the main page rotating every so often. 68.85.91.55 18:39, 19 Dec 2004 (UTC) That's me.... Question

edit

Hi there,

I wondered where I can find a general discussion on the phenomenon WikiBureau. I was thinking of starting a WB on Topics like Health and Science and Techno instead of the geographic WB that are around now, but wanted some feedback first.

btw, isn't the idea of a wikibureau some sort of equivalent of a wikiproject on Wikipedia, you know to bring editors together?
