What on earth

edit

What on earth is this Source Watch thing? It is completely unclear! -- IlyaHaykinson 13:30, July 11, 2005 (UTC)

Sorry, I typed it up at 4 in the morning. It's so users can sign up to watch a given news site for developments, that way we don't have confusion as to who is watching where and where more people need to watch. -- NGerda 17:35, July 11, 2005 (UTC)

Encouraging people to follow the proposed policy

edit

Does anyone have any suggestions how to encourage people to follow this policy? Today, for example (21 July) when the second wave of bombs hit London, within 30 minutes of the first reports about 3 stories appeared on wn, each the same story, just written slightly differently; so we end up with one main story being edited and lots of other articles with just an opening paragraph. I'd actually forgotten about this, because I didn't think it was likely to happen again for a while. Now we have two similar incidents in two days... I was present from the start for the 7/7 articles and for today, so I'll have a tinker, although NGerda has done a great job. Dan100 (Talk) 11:30, 22 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Tinkering

edit

With the experience I gained from starting both the 7/7 bombing and the shooting on the Underground articles and looking after them for their first few hours, I've made some changes. Dan100 (Talk) 12:35, 22 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

IRC?

edit

Is the web-based IRC currently working? It's giving me a 404, so I thought I'd check. Schwael 17:03, 16 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Question

edit

If one is at the scene and wants to go online to edit Wikinews, should one go to the nearest Kinko's or Internet cafe? why or why not? just curious. Rickyrab 02:01, 19 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes. Can't think of a reason as to why not. Sign in and contribute what you can from the scene. Upload pictures if you can. --SVTCobra 02:29, 19 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
even if it is from a camera phone lol.
