image removal edit

i've reverted the image u removed from the Washington storm article. images illustrating the events the article reports on, particularly original images, are welcome. i see no reason this one shld be called a "vanity" image either.  — Doldrums(talk) 10:53, 20 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

for the record, it's not me, i don't know who it is. It's a photo of people cramming into a Starbucks because their 'net isn't working at home during the massive power outage. - KeithTyler 17:52, 20 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Good stuff! edit

Excellent work on your article, Irish president opens new park dedicated to Irish refugees in Toronto, Canada. Don't forget to add your OR notes to the Talk page. I added your article to the "News In Pictures" section on the main page. Again, well done! Cheers, Jcart1534 02:55, 22 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Much thanks, I may not do many - but those events I cover, I do like to be exacting and perfectionist ;) On that note...I wonder if you happen to know how one reduces the deadspace between the photo caption and the Credit line. I used a simple html "sup" tag, but that didn't make much difference in reducing dead space. Any help would be great. Sherurcij 03:01, 22 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
I see you fixed it up. It didn't seem to like the "centre" text. Jcart1534 03:19, 22 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Khadr article edit

hi, looks like you've forgotten to add reporting notes/sources to the article. so i've tagged it and unpublished it for now. –Doldrums(talk) 08:23, 20 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

reporting notes would allow me or other editors to figure out whether a fix like this is correct, whether the selection of quotes and incidents you've chosen to report is neutral and so on. it would give you an opportunity to acknowledge whether you were there as a reporter, a participant or a supporter of the rally. my guess is, there will be press releases from HRW and perhaps others which might bear out the quotes, and it would be useful to link to them. an opportunity for the Canadian and US government to respond would go a long way in bringing some balance to the story - that would either be sourced from press statements or, if you actually call them for a comment, would mean more reporting notes.
i realise all this sounds a bit of a chore, but given this is a news website where anyone can post a story, we need to have some way to trying to vet whatever is posted, and asking reporters to turn in their notes goes some way in helping other editors do that. reg, –Doldrums(talk) 08:37, 20 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

From Nepal edit

Yes, sir. I am from Nepal. Kathmandu, Nepal to be more accurate. --Kushal one 01:53, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wow, that's really far away. irid:t 01:54, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Would you mind moving this? You moved it from Talk:Woman carrying a fake bomb arrested at Boston's Logan Airport/Comments but accidentally added an extra quotation mark in front of Student, so the links to it are broken. 18.238.6.77 01:59, 22 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Posner edit

Hi, you're welcome to collaborate, but can you hold off on making changes when I am in the middle of writing it, or we are going to constantly edit conflict each other. Thanks.--David Shankbone 19:30, 22 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Okay, you can have a crack at it now. --David Shankbone 21:51, 22 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the clean-up... edit

...of the article on the death of the latest Canadian casualty in Afghanistan. While I think I'm reasonably good at digging stuff up, still need work on doing things "the Wiki way".
