Out of scope
editThe content you're talking about is Wikipedia's territory. It's out of scope on Wikinews. I did consider various reasons for deletion, but decided to simply userspace it. --Pi zero (talk) 02:29, 26 February 2020 (UTC)
- This is a policy change idea, and indeed it would be a significant change. On every Wikimedia project I'm aware of, however, people are free to propose all sorts of policy changes, and to be given a space to refine policy ideas that are not yet fully developed. I do think it has some merit in terms of potential for growing the visibility of and participation on the project, and would indeed benefit the deadline-based part of Wikinews as well.--Pharos (talk) 03:14, 26 February 2020 (UTC)
- What I perceive you to be proposing —sure, there's room for misinterpretation— would be incompatible with the definitions of Wikinews as a project and of Wikipedia as a project; that is, it would put on Wikinews material that is the within province of Wikipedia and not within the province of Wikinews. The "deadline-based part", as you put it, is Wikinews.
You were here four years ago, trying to push on us an idea that didn't make sense here, that appeared to have been conceived without knowing pertinent facts about how this project works. I'm not seeing that that's changed. More worrisome to me than some missing knowledge is the appearance of missing a prior instinct to try to learn it. Without that instinct, I fear the specific facts could not take root in proper context. --Pi zero (talk) 07:02, 26 February 2020 (UTC)
