Fingerprint graphic
editHey Noclip! What's with the graphic change on the British passport story about? Is that a change for the good... looks like crap! -Edbrown05 04:29, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)
If you are tired of a lead story, change it or write a new one...! -Edbrown05 04:51, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Most other news sites have stock images for different kinds of stories. I thought posting an actual fingerprint online might not be the best idea so I made a new image. -- Noclip 10:48, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Wikinews Skin
editI hate to be a bother, but if it's possible, could you chmod the test wiki that has your Wikinews design so the public could view the code, or at least publish it somewhere? If you don't want the design to be public, that's fine - I'd just like to know either way. ScarredSun 14:02, 6 May 2005 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, Wikinews.php isn't chmodded, but rather by its extension of SkinTemplate.php is rendered as a blank HTML document when viewed or downloaded. Because of these requests however, I've posted the code at Wikinews:Custom skin/Latest code
Any new movement on this project? Did you win? :-) I'd like to scarf this for a grographically local wiki I'm working on, if you're done with it and tis' available for such scarfage...

WikiNews Skin
editLooking to use the WikiNews Skin on a project I'm currently working on using the MediaWiki backend, if the template is finished or not, I would be very interested in using it whatever state it may be in. Please contact me at admin@simplybrilliant.ca . Thanks, cheers.

Your account will be renamed
editHello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Noclip. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Noclip~enwikinews that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
