LostProphyt, welcome to Wikinews! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Our key policies - if you read anything, read these!

Here a few pointers to help you get to know Wikinews:

There are always things to do on Wikinews:

By the way, you can sign your name on Talk pages using four tildes (~~~~), which produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, you can ask them at the water cooler or to anyone on the Welcommittee, or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome! DragonFire1024 10:02, 13 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for signing up. I am glad to see such great interest in Wikinews just because of this. We currently need to work on several things...and the main part is an opener for Wikinews video broadcasts...If you take a look at the wikinews video page you will see everything you need to know...Would you be interested in the graphics part of the opener? We do need anchors...so glad you can help there too :) DragonFire1024 10:16, 13 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Also take a look at our new promo video: [1]. DragonFire1024 10:19, 13 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Anchor

edit

Hey LostProphyt!

I see you have filled out the form to become an anchor newsreader, thanks for that!

Just a few questions which may help us, if you could reply to them at my talk page, I would really appreciate it. Although, for most of these, we would like to have a "yes" as a response, your answer won't affect if you are selected (you will almost definately will be) it is simply to fin out if you have access to certain facilities to see what roles you could be involved in

1) Do you have access to a high quality or a HD (High Definition) camera?

2) Do you have access to a 16:9 (Widescreen) camera?

3) Do you have access to a blue / green screen?

4) Which (if any) graphics / editing programs do you knoe?

5) Which O/S's do you have access to?

6) If you are selected, would you mind interviewing people?

7) If so, would you rather be an anchor or, be an on field reporter?

8) Are there any days you are / are not available to interview someone?

9) Which sity / suburb are you in (optioinal - this will allow us to make further decisions)

I would really appreciate it if you answer these questions as they will allow us to get back to you and assign you a task.

Wikinews Video/Audio

edit

Just a reminder to all of those interested in doing news reading for Video Wikinews. While we continue the "creation" process regarding the actual broadcast, we encourage all of you to get involved and speak Wikinews.

We would love for users to practice or show off their skills by reporting Wikinews articles in the form of audio. Anyone who has a microphone can do it. Simply go to the help page of wikinews audio for help on how to record an article. DragonFire1024 06:55, 26 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
