Flipbaywood
Welcome
editFlipbaywood, welcome to Wikinews! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
Our key policies - if you read anything, read these!
- Wikinews:Neutral point of view - tell every side to a story in a fair and balanced way
- Wikinews:Cite sources - everything in a Wikinews article must be sourced
Here a few pointers to help you get to know Wikinews:
- Wikinews:Introduction - overview of the site
- Wikinews:Writing an article - how to write and publish a complete article
- Wikinews:Content guide - what's suitable for Wikinews
- Wikinews:Style guide - how articles should look before publishing
- Wikinews:Contents - the contents page.
There are always things to do on Wikinews:
- Existing articles need expanding and checking for spelling and mistakes
- The front page lead articles often need updating
- Developing stories need finishing and publishing
- Discussions need your input
- Audio Wikinews could always use more contributors
- And of course, stories need writing!
By the way, you can sign your name on Talk pages using four tildes (~~~~), which produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, you can ask them at the water cooler or to anyone on the Welcommittee, or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome! Jacques Divol 17:20, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
Welcome
editWikinews desperately needs more gutsy reporters; please give the project as much time as you can spare. Neutralizer 02:40, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
PD
editI noticed your putting all your edits in wikipedia PD, are you planning to do that here to? Bawolff ☺☻ 23:30, 20 March 2006 (UTC Nope, CC-BY here at wikinews. Each article I make is notable, while most of my edits at 'pedia weren't that notable. ReporterFromAfar3136 23:39, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
I can't see where the usage of this picture is permitted by the MLB. Can you identify why this is fair use? irid:t 17:16, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
Thank you very much for the nomination.
editI really appreciate your nomination! Good timing, too, as I just got back from an undeclared wikibreak. Again, thank you! irid:t 03:11, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
Re: Huh?
editWell, that edit's primary purpose was to fix my name and de-capitalize the first "I". But then again, I wasn't around for April 1st. ;) irid:t 00:06, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
Regarding my RfA
editHey, I wanted to thank you for the nomination and support for my RfA. Sharp eye with the day count; I wasn't even thinking about it at the time. You're too awesome. Thanks. :) irid:t 22:36, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
Regarding a name change
editActually, I think you need to get a bureaucrat to do that. I'm looking at the wikitools and such and I'm not seeing anything for that, other than renaming your userpage which (although great fun) wouldn't garner the desired effect. Sorry man. irid:t 06:57, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the award
editThanks for the praise! The prank was worth the 24 hour block (which was shortly removed by another administrator)! —THIS IS MESSED OCKER (TALK) 01:58, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
Argentina/Serbia-Montenegro article
editYo flip, I love the article you wrote for today's game. I'd like to edit the passive voice out, and if that's fine with you then I will proceed with that.
Is at WN:DR, please discuss. Bawolff ☺☻ 20:42, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
