The clock is ticking for Wikimedia to allow a Chinese Wikinews.
Tai Tai and I religiously follow the news from China, so it is especially frustrating to us that the Board has thwarted the launch of zh.wikinews.
There are no shortage of excuses for the board to drag this matter out for years if they so choose, so thanks for writing with a certain sense of urgency about this matter.
May I e-mail you to discuss strategy for zh.wikinews, and a possible backup plan should Wikimedia decline to pursue this project? There are many others who are interested in this project as well, (you are not the only one who is baffled as to why it has not gone forward), so we need to get better organized to support this cause.
