Welcome
editDavidf12, welcome to Wikinews! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
Our key policies - if you read anything, read these!
- Wikinews:Neutral point of view - tell every side to a story in a fair and balanced way
- Wikinews:Cite sources - everything in a Wikinews article must be sourced
Here a few pointers to help you get to know Wikinews:
- Wikinews:Introduction - overview of the site
- Wikinews:Writing an article - how to write and publish a complete article
- Wikinews:Content guide - what's suitable for Wikinews
- Wikinews:Contents - the contents page.
There are always things to do on Wikinews:
- Existing articles need expanding and checking for spelling and mistakes
- The front page lead articles often need updating
- Developing stories need finishing and publishing
- Discussions need your input
- And of course, stories need writing!
By the way, you can sign your name on Talk pages using four tildes (~~~~), which produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, you can ask them at the water cooler or to anyone on the Welcommittee, or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome! — Doldrums(talk) 04:38, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
unpublishing the Ipswitch murders article
edithi, i see that u've unpublished the article with a edit summary, "my work found on web...". i'm not quite sure what u mean, but if u mean that you found the same article on another website, then i just want to point out that Wikinews licenses all its articles freely, under a Creative Commons Attribution licence, and so Wikinews articles are republished by many websites. that, by itself, is not a reason for unpublishing the article. — Doldrums(talk) 08:58, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- can u post the link where u found the copy? most often, websites that reproduce Wikinews content attribute it to Wikinews (indeed, they are legally required to, under the license terms). so long as u wrote this article in your own words and did not copy it from anywhere, u shld not worry about copyright and shld publish it. best, — Doldrums(talk) 09:14, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
thankyou here it is

- no probs. eCanadaNow is a known republisher of Wikinews articles, u can see they attribute the article to 'WN' (at the bottom of the article). so no worries about this one, go ahead and publish it. — Doldrums(talk) 09:58, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
